From the moment we arrived at Virtuoso Ninh Van Bay, Vietnam all six senses told us that this was no ordinary luxury accommodations place to be. Huge granite rocks at water’s edge concealed a swimming pool superimposed against the China Sea. At our backs, dramatic mountains stood guard over us while we slept at night cradled in each other’s arms.

We were doubly fortunate to be there on that day, for we were celebrating a special anniversary, and had booked an all inclusive Villa with own secluded private swimming pool. At our request, attentive staff left us in peace until requested to make up our well-appointed rooms. Our luxury accommodations featured strong brushstrokes in Vietnamese architectural vernacular with much use made of wood paneling and wooden furniture beneath traditional thatch. So too was the Sixth Senses Spa, being of an open air design besides a gentle waterfall that permitted perfect pampering in harmony with nature.
We made good use of the various dining choices that provided many different opportunities to sample exciting local meals made with freshest organic food. The seafood was particularly delicious, including as it did fresh lobsters, king prawns and various fish caught daily just out in the bay. Dining on the Jetty, as fishing boats with bright lights reaped their harvests out in gentle seas was a real joy for us, as was a light lunch washed down by chilled wine on a totally Private Beach just thirty minute’s peaceful boat ride away. After some discussion though, we voted evenings spent at the al fresco Bay Restaurant on the deck as our all time favorite, because of the fine sea views and the restricted seating, provided luxury hotels style.
